  2. That sounds great…

Different databases for accounts and for e-mail marketing spells big trouble with omissions and edits being made in one but not the other.

Look forward to seeing this in action.

  5. crawfurd says:

MailChi8mp considerably more expensive than graphicmail and not as well featured, IMHO! Also Graphicmail’s templates a lot more “European” than the very Yank Chimp.

  6. Chris Tanner says:

Without wishing to slate GraphicMail, we’ve had no end of problems trying to integrate over their API. Their servers have not responded during critical times, and they have no way of batch adding contacts – so you’d have to wait an hour to load 2,000 recipients. It’s actually a South African company, but at least they do have at least one support person available during UK office hours, whereas Mailchimp are a few hours behind.

MailChimp have an awesome extra level of integration which will actually allow you to see WHO has read each mail, when, how many times and so on – in the “add-ons” – A.I.M. Reports – we’ll be adding this soon for full re-segmentation opportunities from within CRM.

Thanks to everyone that joined us on this morning’s webinar – feedback has been excellent!

  12. Ali Lamerton-Hunt says:

Excellent – I have already emailed other people in our company ready for next week. Although I had already looked at the demonstration site it is much easier with Chris talking us through the system, while being able to listen to questions and answers.

Very informative and makes great sense of an exhaustive tool. The package appears to be SO comprehensive that its a little daunting up front. By exploring it in pieces with a live tour and a staff member, it is all starting make sense a great deal more.
Having access to these demos as tutorials will be a great help. Well done and I look forward to learning more in the near future.

  14. Rehan Shirwani says:

    Hi there,

The webinar seemed pretty helpful, but unfortunately I missed a lot of it at the beginning. If you can start recording the webinars, that will be more convenient for customers as well as yourselves (once you have a good webinar recorded, you won’t have to repeat yourself as much and can just concentrate on questions).

If you are using GoToMeeting/Webinar, I would suggest recording in Windows Media Format rather than the less common GoToMeeting codec format, for wider audience compatibility (it’s in the options).

  15. Nick says:

I just got the email this morning and missed the webinar. I’m located in the united states. May I view a copy of the webinar at a later date?

  16. Chris Tanner says:

Hello all – I’m afraid we didn’t record it this time, but we will do in future.

  17. The workshops sound great too. I can’t make this Monday unfortunately, will you be running any more, please?

  20. Chris Tanner says:

Steve – the UK has Data Protection laws regarding the hosting location of the information, so hosting in the UK is key. It’s also better (essential) having local implementation, consultancy and support teams. It’s reassuring to have a software provider in the same country as you, that knows the market. Pearl is way more than just a lightweight SaaS app – and often needs multiple days of on-site training for the larger implementations – try and produce a UK VAT return from Freshbooks :)

  21. chris says:

Chris, thanks for the overview today. All delivered with an excellent, easy-going style that although you covered a hell of a lot, never seemed rushed. Nice one.

It must serve as a very powerful taster for anyone who’s not already familiar with the power of Pearl, and I would imagine that current users (of which I’m one) probably discovered a thing or two as well!

Looking forward to next week’s instalment…..

  22. I’m not sure if the “canonical page” icon is always by default shown in Firefox. I’ve never found information about it. Probably it’s only shown, when you have one particular extension installed. I think about the SearchStatus extension. More information here:
